Can you explain the inner mammal to others?
It's hard to get friends and family to accept this perspective.
Greetings fellow mammals!
Yesterday I had a zoom chat with my newest Certified Inner Mammal Trainer, and he told me how excited his wife and business partner were about the inner mammal perspective. I was surprised to hear that because I often hear the opposite. Many people tell me that the book changed their life, so they give it to friends and family with great excitement, but it gets ignored.
The same thing happens to me, quite frankly. My friends and family are not interested in hearing me talk about their inner mammal.
So I am always trying to learn more about what works. I invite you to explain the inner mammal to friends and family (and coworkers!) and let me know how it goes. To help you do that, I have just rewritten the About section of this Substack. Other simple introduction tools are the home page of the Inner Mammal Institute (scroll past the books) and my series of 5-minute videos: YouHavePowerOverYourBrain.com.
Maybe they will be eternally grateful. Maybe they will expel you from the herd. Maybe they will think you’re a foolish little monkey, which helps them feel like the bigger, more intelligent, more virtuous monkey. Whatever happens, people will eventually find their power over their inner mammal if we keep trying! Until then, here’s a hilarious reminder of why it’s not easy being mammal:
